Pancakes
Hi to all. This is by no means a Julie and Julia kinda blog. No way i can master so many recipes in a year or do I have any talent to conjur such amazing food. Perhaps only my dear fren, Chef jean, as we all might call her. She makes an excellent steak and lots of other stuff.
My blog is drop dead boring with hardly any updates so I think basically no one reads it. Anyways, I’ve decided to remove some of my personal posts cos ppl do ask alot about it. I’m past it so I dun wanna talk about it. This morn I was really bored so I decided to cook some pancakes. I’m no chef so the browning of the pancakes isn’t beautiful, it’s edible nonetheless.

For those who have absolutely no idea on how to make pancakes, here goes… (this goes out especially to my own bros)
1 packet of Morinaga pancake flour mix. Any other brand would do fine actually, just follow the instruction for the mixing proportions.
130ml of fresh milk. U can use a range of 100 to 140 ml of milk but I tot that 130 works fine for me.
1 egg.
First, mix in the eggs and the fresh milk into a mixing bowl (I juz using a normal big bowl). Whisk it up using a fork or whisk. When it gets all smooth and silky looking, mix in the flour (u should read it as FLOWER). Usually, u’ll notice that the mix is all clumpy with little lumps of flour swimming around in ur pancake goo. Pour the mix through a sieve. Use the back of a spoon to break up the lil lumps as it flows thru the sieve. TA DA! it’s really smooth now.

Heat up the frying pan using a medium flame, throw in a tablespoon of butter. Let the butter melt and tilt the pan to both sides to let the melted butter cover the entire surface of the pan. Scoop up the mix using a ladle and pour it onto the pan at the same spot, maintaining a steady flow as u pour. This enables ur pancakes to turn up round. I tried to make art out of 1 pancake, the shape turned out so scary, it would have petrified Medusa instantly.
Okay now the pancake is slowly browning on one side with the other pale uncooked side staring at u but when do u flip. U will notice small lil bubbles forming on the uncooked side. So when it’s no longer runny, just flip it. This way, your pancakes are still round. Move this pancake to the side and let it brown a little more before serving. Then u can start frying another one in the empty corner of your pan.
